WELCOME REMARK FROM THE PRESIDENT ELECT OF INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE OF NUTRITION
Dear Esteemed Delegates, Distinguished Speakers, and Colleagues, On behalf of the International College of Nutrition (ICN), it is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I welcome you to Bogor of West Java for the 28th World Congress on Clinical Nutrition (WCCN), being held from May 27–30, 2024, in the beautiful and culturally rich city of Bogor, Indonesia. This year’s congress is themed “Functional Food, Sustainable Diet, Behavioral and Clinical Nutrition in the Interdisciplinary and Personalized Nutrition Era,” a theme that encapsulates the exciting developments and challenges we face in the evolving field of nutrition.
This year’s congress promises to be an exciting and transformative event, bringing together thought leaders and experts from across the globe to explore cutting-edge advances in clinical nutrition. As the President-Elect of the International College of Nutrition, I am proud to present a gathering focused on the growing significance of personalized nutrition. Tailoring dietary recommendations to individual genetic, metabolic, microbiome, and environmental profiles is at the heart of modern nutritional science, and this congress will highlight and discuss these critical topics in depth.
Our shared mission at the 28th WCCN is to foster collaborative partnerships among researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and industry leaders. Together, we will explore how to translate evidence-based health promotion strategies into actionable, sustainable nutrition policies that can make a real difference in global health outcomes. This congress will also serve as a platform for sharing best practices and innovations in nutrition that can help prevent diseases and promote healthier communities. We are excited to engage in thought-provoking discussions and sessions that contribute to a deeper interdisciplinary approach to nutrition and health, all while considering how we can build sustainable diets tailored to individual needs and promoting long-term well-being.
The scientific program will showcase groundbreaking research, while the expo will allow for the exploration of the latest advancements in the field. Additionally, we will honor the contributions of outstanding professionals with the awards ceremony. The congress will also include a field trip, giving attendees the opportunity to experience firsthand the richness of West Java’s cultural and agricultural diversity. The Food and Nutrition Societies of Indonesia, the organizing committee and partners delighted to welcome you to the 28th WCCN 2025 in Bogor, the city having the Presidential Palace, the oldest and the largest botanical garden in Southeast Asia. Bogor is recognized as a popular tourist destination, due to its beauty and unique scenery as well as unique culinary and culture.
We hope the congress will fortify the local and international network of food and nutrition researchers and professionals. Thank you to the government of Indonesia, food and nutrition related industries, and partners. Thank you to all participants, and please enjoy the symposium and the beauty of Bogor.
